Back-to-school season means fresh routines, busy mornings and plenty of time spent together. It’s also a useful reminder to check children’s hair regularly for head lice, especially when schools report cases.

For everyday prevention, encourage children not to share brushes, combs or hair accessories, tie back longer hair where practical, and check the scalp with a fine-toothed detection comb when needed. If head lice are found, follow current professional treatment guidance; a cosmetic shampoo alone should not be relied on to prevent or treat an infestation.
